Self-measure of heart rate variability (HRV) and arrhythmia to monitor and to manage atrial arrhythmias: personal experience with high intensity interval exercise (HIIE) for the conversion to sinus rhythm

چکیده
INTRODUCTION AND BACKGROUND: BENEFITS OF SELF-MEASURE Self-Measure (SM) of heart rate variability (HRV) may provide a novel tool to monitor and to manage atrial arrhythmias. In the present article, I report my experience monitoring HRV and arrhythmias simultaneously, and how I discovered that acute episodes of high intensity interval exercise (HIIE) terminated atrial arrhythmias. I propose that SM of HRV may help identify therapies that retard the progression of arrhythmia toward atrial fibrillation (AFIB) and stroke with aging, starting at ages 45–55 years of age (Feinberg et al., 1995).

Heart Rate Variability Classification using Support Vector Machine and Genetic Algorithm
Background: Electrocardiogram (ECG) is defined as an electrical signal, which represents cardiac activity. Heart rate variability (HRV) as the variation of interval between two consecutive heartbeats represents the balance between the sympathetic and parasympathetic branches of the autonomic nervous system. Objective: In this study, we aimed to evaluate the efficiency of discrete wavelet transfo...
متن کاملEffects of Wearing N95 Respirators and Surgical Masks during Progressive Running Exercise and High-Intensity Interval Training on Time- and Frequency-Domain Indicators of Heart Rate Variability
Background and purpose: Wearing face masks has become popular during the COVID-19 pandemic as a measure to prevent the spread of the virus. Some studies have pointed out the intervening role of these masks in the effect of exercise on the cardiovascular system. This study aimed at examining and comparing the effects of masking (N95 respirators and surgical masks) and not wearing a mask during e...
متن کاملThe Effects of Prescribed and Self-Paced High-Intensity Interval Exercise on Affective and Enjoyment Responses in Adults with Overweight-to-Obesity
Background. Affective responses (pleasure or displeasure feelings) to high-intensity interval exercise (HIIE) are dependent on the intensity of the work-interval phases, but current evidence is limited to the prescribed-based HIIE protocol (P-HIIE) in overweight and obese adults. The influence of the self-paced HIIE protocol (S-HIIE) on perceptual responses (affective, enjoyment, and perceived ...
متن کاملAutonomic and electrocardiographic changes in cardioinhibitory syncope.
AIMS Cardioinhibitory syncope (CS) is a neurally mediated response causing bradycardia or asystole. This study reports on changes in blood pressure, heart rate variability (HRV), and ECG patterns before and after syncope with asystole. METHODS AND RESULTS Thirty-five patients with CS and a matched control group were submitted to 60 degrees head-up tilt for 20 min with the addition of nitrogly...

Based on psychophysiological research, coherent heart-brain interaction can change afferent cardiac signal pattern sent to the brain. Accordingly, the present study aimed at facilitating the emotion-cognition interaction through HeartMath Institute self-regulated emotional techniques to investigate the efficacy of heart-brain coherence on reading anxiety reduction that significantly enhances at...
